A Picture = A Thousand Words

I put together a picture slideshow of some pictures from my first time in Papua New Guinea to give you an idea of what it is like.

The first song is Papua New Guinea's national anthem sung by some kids.
Below are the word so you can follow along.

O arise all you sons of this land,
Let us sing of our joy to be free,
Praising God and rejoicing to be
Papua New Guinea.

Shout our name from the
mountains to seas
Papua New Guinea;
Let us raise our voices and
proclaim Papua New Guinea.

Now give thanks to the good Lord above
For His kindness, His wisdom and love
For this land of our fathers so free,
Papua New Guinea.

Shout again for the whole world to hear
Papua New Guinea;
We're independent and we're free,
Papua New Guinea.

The second song is Jisas Mi Kam long Yu (Jesus I come to You) lead by our friend Matthew (he is pictured in the very last slide).
Most of the song is sung in Tok Pisin(Pidgin English-the common trade language), the middle part is in the tok ples(native language) of Waskia from KarKar Island.

Jisas mi kam, Jisas mi kam
Jisas mi kam long yu.
(Jesus I come…. to You)

Yu bikpela bilong mi, Yu win olgeta,
i nogat narapela, emi olsem yu.
(You are my God,You conquer all the time,
There is no one else like You)

Ani ageta, ani me terong, O ba, ani ka arusam.  Ooo-ooo
Nika sokel, ani aisuko, Ani pempem kerak, Kerak bagrik o.
(I am only one, By myself I am not enough, Father God I cry out to You,
You give me strength, All the time You are with me)
