Little Things

I find alot of joy out the little things in life.

Some times I feel like people look at me funny when I get so excited about something that they might just over look or think of a just coincidence.

Since God knows us better then we know ourselves, I know that he uses this characteristic to show Himself to me.

Through out the last couple years I felt God was calling me to missions, I just wasn't sure in what way.  Also I felt like God was calling me back to Papua New Guinea(PNG) but I wanted to make sure that it was His desire for my life and not just my desire for my life.  Because I wanted to make sure that it was God's will there were times when I force myself to not do anything PNG related, which was alot harder then I thought it would be, considering that I get a weekly email about PNG news, I have friends on Facebook from PNG, I am apart of a bunch of Facebook groups that are PNG related and I have a good selection of PNG music.

However through out that time I was filled with joy almost every day when something PNG related would be brought to my attention with out me doing anything.  Some of these included finding a book about a Wycliffe missionary in PNG while at a used book store with out even looking for it, receiving emails or Facebook messages related to PNG,  PNG related ads showing up on the side of my Facebook page and many more things.

They were little things but to me they was more then coincidence, I knew that they were God reminding me that He hadn't forgot about me and that PNG was in His desire for my life.

I had another moment of joy today as I was at another used book store.  I went in there looking to see if I could find a study of the book of Acts and to my surprise not only did I find one for $1 that I think will be really good, I also found a book called "Wycliffe in the Making", it is a memoirs of W. Cameron Townsend who founded Wycliffe in 1942.  I am so excited to read more about how Wycliffe got started.

I have loved these God moments over the years and I look forward to even more.

Take some time today to think about how God might be trying to speak to you through the little things in life.

The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
1 Kings 19:11-12
