I Don't Like Shoes

So I know saying that puts me in the minority when it comes to most women, but it's true I Don't Like Shoes. I was going to say that I Hate Shoes, but I feel like hate might be a little too strong and because there are times when shoes to come in quit handy(winters in WY/SD/MN).

Back to my dislike of shoes. I don't like wearing them and I really don't like buying them.

In my perfect world, I would live somewhere where I would never have to wear shoes. But sadly I don't and it is not yet socially acceptable in the US to just walk around barefooted. If I do have to wear shoes they need to be ones that I can quickly take off when I am able.

Because I don't like to wear shoes, I don't really buy shoes that often. Also I am very picky when it comes to the shoes that I buy. The shoes I buy have to be multifunctional, I'm not one to buy a pair of shoes to go with just one outfit. Also you would think that since I don't buy shoes that often that I would be willing to pay more for good quality shoes that I will be wearing all the time, well you would be wrong, I am one of those people that doesn't want to spend more then $30 top on a pair of shoes and even that sounds too high to me. So needless to say when I have to buy shoes it is a very stressful event.

The other day we went to an outlet mall. My goal was to find shoes to take with me to PNG. I am proud to say that I was successful at finding some water shoes that were under $30!  But my real problem came when I was looking for athletic and casual shoes. Part of me kept thinking to what I already have and trying to justify that I could just use them instead of buying a new pair, but then the other part of my keeps going back to advice that I have hear that it is better to pay more for a pair that you know is going to last. All the while I am thinking about the terrain of where I will be living and trying to figure out if the shoes that I am looking at will live up to it. And the stress that I need to find good shoes here since I won't necessarily be able to find then in PNG doesn't help.

And this is why I don't like shoes!!!

Hopefully my next shoe shopping adventure won't be as stressful!!

  1. I don't like shoes either and I don't like spending much on them too. In PNG I can go barefoot almost all the time and if not, then it's usually just flipflops that I wear. My good Tevas don't get much use these days because I just go barefoot.
